About

I'm a senior software engineer at NearForm, creator of the sdx spec-driven development toolchain, and founder of Deen Developers. I'm based in West Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom, and I've spent the last decade building for the web — first as a frontend engineer, then across the whole stack.

Most of my client work has been commerce: Shopify storefronts and headless builds for brands including Hotel Chocolat, Slendertone, and Trtl Travel, plus product work for startups. These days the thread running through everything I do is developer tooling — specifically, how specifications can drive both humans and AI agents to build the same thing on purpose rather than by accident. That's what sdx is: a toolchain for spec-driven development, and the subject of a living reference page on this site.

Deen Developers is the community I founded for Muslim engineers — we run hack days and build software for causes, including apps like Quran Cafe and Halal Joints. It's the longest-running thing I've made and the one I'm proudest of.

This site is a collection of essays and reference pages rather than a blog: pieces get revised for years, and every post carries a revision log showing what changed and why. If you want to talk, I'm on X,LinkedIn, orGitHub.
